The final conference of the project A Manual on Work and Happiness, named Work and Happiness? Reflections about participatory artistic processes, will take place at Marvila Library, in Lisbon, on October 15 and 16 2108. The conference marks the conclusion of the project, which was funded by Creative Europe. It will share the experiences and the results achieved over the last two years.
One of the project’s main aspects was Audience Development and the engagement of communities in the creative process of a stage show from Portuguese company mala voadora. The show A Manual on Work and Happiness premiered in Patras (Greece); then it was presented in Montijo (Portugal), Alcobaça (Portugal), Pergine (Italy) and, finally, in Lisbon, in the framework of the festival Os Dias de Marvila. In each one of these cities, the cast included members from the local communities, who participated in a residency of three weeks coordinated by mala voadora.
Over two days, the conference will unveil some of the less visible aspects of the whole process, while debating with the audience and with a group of international guests several reflections which emerged throughout the process and which are inherent to participatory artistic projects.
