30 Jul mala voadora and Gisbert attend Writing Residency
L’arboreto – Teatro Dimora di Mondaino is hosting the Writing Residency of the project A Manual on Work and Happiness in the first half of August.
Jorge Andrade and José Capela, from Portuguese theatre company mala voadora, and Catalan writer Pablo Gisbert will jointly create the text of the play which will generate four different performances in four different cities in 2018. These performances will include the participation of the local communities of Patras (Greece), Alcobaça (Portugal), Montijo (Portugal) and Pergine (Italy).
The Writing Residency of the Manual happens three weeks after the International Seminar on Work and Happiness, which was held during the 42nd Pergine Spettacolo Aperto festival.
The International Seminar gathered researchers, philosophers and artists to reflect and debate on work and happiness-related themes. The two-day event included a conference named Happiness Calling, which was broadcasted in live streaming, and several workshops/lazyshops with European artists selected in an open call. Check out the four video reports of the International Seminar.
Some of the ideas and topics approached during the International Seminar are expected to inspire the writing process of the Manual. Andrade, Capela and Gisbert will turn that intellectual input into an artistic piece.
L’arboreto – Teatro Dimora will also host the first public reading of the Manual e in December 2017.
