Setting up a project involving partners from Portugal, Italy and Greece and an artistic team from the Iberian Peninsula was not a coincidence. These territories not only share a cultural tradition, they also face common challenges: economic crisis, unemployment and a feeling of social disintegration that threatens European beliefs.

Within this socio-political context, A Manual on Work and Happiness decided to create a network named Southern Coalition, which acknowledges the fragile situation of the artistic and cultural sector in the South of Europe and seeks to strengthen their operational capacity.
